Disassembly, relocation, and start-up of a glass bottling line in just three weeks. In just three weeks, BBM Service’s technical team completed the operation at the plant in Fonti di Posina (Vicenza – Italy).
Fonti di Posina S.p.a belongs to the Montecristo Group, together with S. Bernardo S.p.a. and Fonte Ilaria S.p.a. Since 1974, Fonti di Posina has been bottling Lissa water from the Beber-Doppio and Lissa mineral springs. With the leimotiv “Love in Water,” Lissa is bottled in an elegant design, ideal for the Horeca sector. The well-known mineral water brand also bottles soft drinks, such as organically grown Green Tea.
Gruppo Montecristo stands out in the beverage scene as one of the most important national private label and contract manufacturers, counting the most important national and international chains in both pet and glass mineral water and carbonated soft drinks among its collaborations. These include drinks filled with aseptic technology, which uses hydrogen peroxide sterilization. Thanks to its know-how, Fonti di Posina S.p.a. ascribes 95 percent of its turnover to the private label and industrial customers sector: a significant result, achieved through the technologies and production capacities.
In 2022, BBM Service was approached by the Group to implement a series of projects on bottling lines. At Fonti Posina, the project involved the conservative relocation of a part of the glass bottling line, in order to differentiate the packaging of bottles into crates and cartons, the latter intended for export to foreign countries. BBM was responsible for the creation of a bypass for crate packaging, through the modification of single-line conveyors and the relocation of the palletizer, wrapper and depalletizer.
The operating logic of the line was also restored, with the inclusion of an autonomous stop system. During the relocation, partial maintenance was carried out on the equipment, and worn components were replaced with new parts. In just three weeks, the assembly, relocation, installation, and startup of the line was completed. The result is a 20-30% more efficient line, capable of producing 10,000 bottles per hour in four formats.
We thank the technical staff of Fonti Posina for their cooperation and help.
