ECOVADIS is the world’s largest universal provider of sustainability (Environment, Safety, and Social Responsibility) assessments; in partnership with the companies enrolled in its program, it aims to improve the environmental and social practices of companies in 190 sectors and 150 countries. The ECOVADIS platform allows companies to monitor their own performance in terms of environmental sustainability, but there’s more: reliable ratings and monitoring tools allow those who obtain recognition to work with large, demanding companies in terms of sustainability. To date, the ECOVADIS database counts more than 50,000 assessed companies.
We are proud to announce that, for the second consecutive year, BBM Service has been awarded a silver medal by Ecovadis! According to the platform, BBM Service excels in business ethics, ranking among the top companies in the industrial food & beverage packaging sector. Our strengths also include the purchase and/or generation of renewable energy – take a look at our energy policy here – , the reduction of carbon emissions in the transport of industrial materials and the implementation of specific measures to comply with the WEEE directive when replacing equipment. In fact, for over 15 years, BBM Service has made it its mission to give a second life to disused equipment that is no longer in use. Our second-hand business guarantees the environmental benefits of reducing the disposal of heavy industrial equipment.
The rigour of our choices and the results obtained on Ecovadis have allowed us, as suppliers, to overcome the strict selection of customers such as Coca Cola HBC Italia. Among the collaborators who have joined the renowned platform and woven a network with BBM Service, Nestlé, The Coca Cola Company, Arca Continental.
Our next goal is to continue to improve; BBM Service considers the focus on sustainability to be one of the primary objectives for its present and future agenda. Environmental protection is an increasingly important prerogative for the packaging sector: thanks to tools such as Ecovadis, we want to take up this challenge, in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the UN for 2030. A commitment that not only translates into concern for the ecosystem, but also into a concrete responsibility to ensure the well-being of our employees.
