Currently, our specialized technicians are working at Acqua Fiuggi on the installation of a 16,000 bottles per hour (bph) PET line and a 20,000 bph glass line, both refurbished and guaranteed.
BBM has provided Acqua Fiuggi with a complete turnkey service, covering all the critical stages of the project: from logistical planning and machine transport to the installation and commissioning of the filling lines. In collaboration with trusted, long-time partners, BBM managed the exceptional transport of the lines, ensuring the equipment arrived safely and on time.
BBM for Acqua Fiuggi, a brand looking to the future
Acqua Fiuggi, a symbol of excellence in Italian mineral water, is now part of LMDV Capital’s portfolio, led by Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio. The new ownership has initiated a renewal process to relaunch the brand, selecting BBM Packaging as the partner for upgrading the production lines. In 2023, BBM was tasked with supplying and installing two new bottling lines, one for PET bottles and the other for glass bottles.
The installation project in summary
The PET line includes a SIDEL SBO 12 S2 blow molder, a UNICOM system connecting the blow molder to the Procomac Gripstar filling machine, a carbonator, advanced systems for tethered caps, and various machines, including an SMI packer, a COMAG handle applicator, a TMG palletizer, and a Robopac stretch wrapper. The glass line consists of a Simonazzi Azzurra filling machine, an Arol capper, a Heuft inspector for empty bottles, and conveyors equipped with an advanced control system. BBM also managed the disassembly of the previous glass line, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted transition.
BBM also provided Acqua Fiuggi with BBM Line Control, a system that optimizes the management and monitoring of the entire production line, ensuring greater efficiency, traceability, and coordination between the various machines.
Regarding the formats processed, the PET line handles 500 ml and 1000 ml bottles for the large-scale retail sector, and 330 ml, 750 ml, and 1000 ml bottles for the Horeca Luxury sector. The glass line processes 1000 ml formats for Horeca Luxury and VAP Pharma, as well as 750 ml and 250 ml formats for Horeca Luxury, with the possibility of future additional formats. Both lines support various types of packaging, ensuring maximum production flexibility.
The transport of the lines
Transporting the lines represented a high-level logistical challenge. Twelve standard trucks and five exceptional transports were required, with loads reaching a width of 4.5 meters and a weight of 63,600 kg. The transported machines included the SIDEL SBO 12 S2 blow molder, the PROCOMAC filling machine, and the Simonazzi Bluestar filling machine for glass. The standard transports were completed between November 5 and 27, 2024, while the exceptional loads began on November 25.
Once at the destination, the BBM team was ready to manage the unloading and begin the assembly work. The installation of the two lines was carried out quickly and efficiently, confirming BBM as the go-to partner for turnkey projects.

Next steps: assembly and testing
The assembly of the lines is ongoing, and soon we will share time-lapse videos and the results of the testing of the first formats. We are excited to show you the outcome of this extraordinary project for Acqua Fiuggi.
The complexities of exceptional transport
Another critical aspect is managing the timing: exceptional transports require more time than regular ones, with restrictions on when and where they can travel to minimize traffic impact. Finally, protecting the machinery from potential damage during transport is essential, using proper packaging to preserve its integrity.
Addressing these complexities requires coordination between different parties: specialized transporters, local authorities, and equipment suppliers. In this context, BBM Packaging relies on established collaborations with high-level partners to ensure each phase of the transport is managed efficiently and safely.
