Supply and installation of conveyors for beer bottling plants. BBM Service is in constant search for excellence in the optimisation of production lines. The collaboration with Birrificio San Giorgio represented another milestone of synergy and innovation.
The year 2023 saw Birra Castello – one of Italy’s most historic breweries – cede its San Giorgio di Nogaro plant to Royal Unibrew – Royal Unibrew is a renowned International Multi-Beverage company. A strategic step that strengthened the Danish group’s presence in Italy and international markets. Aimed at expanding the plant’s production activities, this move required a careful integration of new technologies with existing equipment.
In this dynamic context, BBM Service assumed a key role, consolidating its long-standing partnership with Heuft for Royal Unibrew, already a long-standing customer. BBM Service was asked to improve the efficiency of bottling operations, with a focus on the integrity of empty bottles and waste management.
BBM took over the modification of the conveyor layout to allow the installation of the empty bottle inspector from HEUFT, the world leader in inspection systems for the beverage industry – and a trusted partner of BBM Service. BBM installed a reject counter to divert defective bottles; an upgrade that required not only a physical adaptation of the facilities, but also flawless synchronisation to ensure a continuous production flow. BBM’s intervention completed the optimisation of a non-returnable glass line, capable of operating at a speed of 40,000 bottles per hour.
The project, which started on 22 September and was completed at the beginning of March 2024, was an example of the speed and effectiveness of BBM’s work. In less than a week after the installation of the inspector, we successfully completed all the necessary modifications, demonstrating our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. BBM Service’s commitment goes even further: we are currently engaged in negotiations for ongoing maintenance of the belts, ensuring constant support for maximum reliability of production operations.
